Panama City Beach

Image
The weather is hot, but we have one cool dude with us. Jake gets cuter everyday and I snap a picture every time he puts on a new outfit or goes somewhere new. Here are a few pictures that are sure to brighten your day! Ready to go swimming! At Margaritaville with Daddy. Jake didn't enjoy the loud noises and screaming inside the restaurant, but he enjoyed hanging out with Daddy before we went in. Aunt Fabby only came to the beach to spend time with Jake. Mommy sure is glad she's here to help out! Daddy with his Mini-me. Mommy and Daddy

My First Vacation

Image
Our family is enjoying Jake's first trip to Nanny Nette and PawPaw's condo in Panama City Beach. Here are a few of the pictures we snapped after dinner tonight. Look for more pictures to be on this week as Mommy is camera crazy. There are just so many "Kodak" moments. Our patriotic family. Check out the red, white, and blue. Aunt Fabby and Jake Mommy and Jake Jake had a small problem during pictures. Unbeknownst to any of the adults, Jake had a very large and sticky poop while we were snapping away. When pictures were over, several of us had brown stuff on our clothes. PawPaw had to be cleaned off. Thank God for baby wipes! We had a wardrobe malfunction due to the large quantity of poop oozing out of Jake's diaper. Thank goodness Aunt Fabby had put a special onesie in Jake's diaper bag. This is his treat from her recent trip to New York.

Go Dawgs!

Image
The Bulldogs have made it into the college World Series and the Browns couldn't be happier. As much as Daddy loves the dawgs, it is already decided that Jake will be a dawg fan too. Before going to dinner at Uncle Jason and Aunt Heather's house, Daddy dressed Jake in one of his many UGA outfits. This particular outfit just happened to be a baseball jersey and we are sure that Jakes attire is the good luck charm that the bulldogs needed to win the first game. Check out Jake's cute little outfit. We are expecting modeling contracts for the UGA catalogs to start rolling in any day now. From his pappi to his socks, Jake is decked out in his red and black finest. Mommy's Georgia boys. By the way, as I am publishing this, the dawgs are losing the second game by 5 points. If they don't end up making a comeback tonight, we'll know it's because Jake wasn't wearing his Georgia outfit again. If they lose tonight, you can bet that Jake will be wearing his good luc...

Happy Birthday, Nanny Betty!

Image
Wow! Nanny Betty celebrated her 80th birthday this weekend. She is still youthful and beautiful and we are thankful for every day of her 80 years. Now we are hoping for 80 more wonderful years. The family celebrated with a cook-out on the deck with all of our loved ones there. I didn't do a good job of snapping pictures, but here are a few that I got. Nanny Betty and Jake. He didn't get any steak so he decided to eat his arm instead. Nanny Betty, Nanny Shewbert, and Nanny Nette. Check out Nanny's birthday cake in the back. Jake with Cousin Dede. Jake sure is sleepy.

Watch me as I grow

As you know, Jake was two weeks early and I hadn't finished everything I needed to get done before he came. One thing I hadn't done was get an outfit to leave the hospital. Nanny Nette and PawPaw ran out and bought the cutest little Polo outfit for Jake to wear. Since Jake was early and tiny, the outfit was huge. This week, PawPaw took us to eat at the Blue Eyed Daisy for our weekly lunch date and I decided that it was special enough for Jake to give the outfit another try. This time he filled the outfit out a little better. He is almost 3 months old and it finally fits. Check out the "Then" and "Now" outfit pictures below. Our little man is growing up way too fast! "Then" 2 days old 5 lbs. 12 oz. "Now" 12 weeks old 12 lbs. 6oz.

Father's Day

Image
Jake came just in time for all of the important holidays. One of the most special things that has happened to our family so far is the celebration of Mother's Day and Father's Day. Jason and I are so grateful that God chose us to raise such a precious and perfect little boy. Jason's parents were out of town for Father's Day so we spent the day with my family in Gainesville . Jake got to spend the day with his dad while I spent the day with my dad and his dad (Pop Charlie). It was a special day with all of the family. We are truly blessed to have some wonderful dads in our family! Below are a few pictures of our special day. Jake wanted to surprise daddy with Breakfast in bed. Really, Jake has a few years before he'll be able to help mommy cook, but this year he helped by being the alarm clock. He made sure to wake mommy up early enough so that we could get everything ready before daddy woke up. It turned out that the breakfast in bed was too much for Jake. He fell...

Jake's Dedication

Image
On Sunday, Jake had another special day. He was dedicated at Palmetto Baptist Church with all of his favorite people there to watch him. Jason and I had to promise to raise Jake in a Christian home with peace and love. We also promised to teach Jake to love God above all others. It's a big responsibility to raise such a precious child, but I can't imagine doing it without seeking God's advice daily. Jason and I have never promised to be perfect parents, but we do promise to trust in God and seek His will for Jake's life. Here are a few pictures from Jake's special day. Preacher Jimmy says it's not official until the preacher holds the baby. Jake slept right through his dedication. That's okay because we took plenty of pictures. Nanny Nette and Mommy looked long and hard to find Jake's special outfit. Check out the adorable knee-socks that complete the outfit. Doesn't he look like a little man?
