Prince Brown's Latest News
Okay, let me start by apologizing for the delay in updating our blog. Our picture software on the computer crashed and Jason and I had a hard time fixing the problem. It's still not fixed, but I wised up and bought an attachment that will allow me to upload pictures. So hopefully the problem is solved for the time being.
Life with Jake continues to be wonderful and exhausting all at the same time. Jake celebrated his 4 month birthday on July 29 and he is growing and changing so much each day! Here is a little recap of his latest....
On Wednesday, I had to run to Walgreens to pick up some pictures of Jake. As I am standing in line to pay, I get a text message from Jason telling me to hurry home because Jake is about to roll over. Of course, by the time I got home, Jake had already met this milestone. I was sad to have missed his first roll, but he shows it to me several times a day so that I won't forget it.
Jason has been so good about making Jake have floor time each day. I'm just content to hold him in my arms all of the time so he would have never rolled if it had been up to me. Jake has a special quilt that Mrs. Judy Baird made for him that we use especially for floor time. Jason is a proud daddy and is taking all of the credit for teaching Jake to roll over. :) Sorry we don't have a live video for you to see, but we're working on getting a video camera so we can share that with you.
Jake has also started standing up in our laps. He is such a big man. He thinks he is too cool to lay in our laps so he must be sitting up or standing at all times or he gets to be one fussy boy. You should see how hard it is to get him to sleep when he's trying to stand up!
Jake has also started to give kisses. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to close his mouth so all of his kisses are open-mouthed. Let me tell you, his open-mouthed kisses are the best and the slobber that he leaves all over your face is sweeter than sugar!
Jake is growing so much and getting to be such a big boy. He loves bath time and just squeals with delight. Jason has taken over bath time each night and this is Jake's special guy time with Daddy. Jason doesn't mind a long bath and the two of them take their time and have fun.
When Jake gets out of the bath, he is instantly transformed into a terry clothed animal. His favorite is a frog towel and Jason and I jump around and sing a version of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Frogs" each time he wears it. Jake loves the entertainment and Jason and I love to see our little frog grin.

By the way, check out how modest our son is. Jake took special precautions in each picture to make sure that he was accurately covered. Let's hope he carries this trait with him throughout the rest of his life!

My favorite motto right now is "My cup runneth over." I can't tell you how blessed Jason and I are or how much we love our son. I have to go back to work on Monday so right now I have the back to school blues. Jake and I have played all summer and I've loved all of this special bonding time. It's going to be so hard for me to return to the real world and leave Jake's world each day. Jake will be staying with a close family friend so he is really only gaining another Nanny. That will be something else I'll need to blog about so expect to hear more later. In the meantime, keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We love ya!
